In May Harrods décor was overtaken by the Baz Luhrmann film version of The Great Gatsby. From full action window displays featuring mannequins in dresses (designed for the film by award winning designer Catherine Martin), to newly layered laminated floors (imitating the flooring of Gatsby in the film), the store has been temporarily re-designed. Feathers and pearls are displayed throughout the store but perhaps the greatest homage to the film and the era is a pop-up bar featuring era appropriate cocktails.
Although most of us won’t have the opportunity to travel to London to experience the takeover ourselves, Harrods has shared a promotional video featuring many elements of the phenomenal design.
