Dallas’ Deep Ellum: Sanctioned Street Art via the 42 Murals Project

A real estate developer, Scott Rohrman, owns a lot of property in the Deep Ellum section of Dallas. He hopes to help invigorate the neighborhood and attract new tourists and locals to the area by accentuating these buildings with art. His company is called 42 Real Estate and with a nod to that, he named his art project the 42 Murals Project. Murals are scattered throughout the neighborhood and if they’re part of the project they’ll have a tag identifying it as such. There are Facebook and Instagram accounts for the artists, fans and neighbors to share their interaction with the pieces. Local, national and international artists were welcome to participate the project has helped to provide exposure of artists to people of all ages.

Here are some murals that we spotted on a rainy day in March, 2016.
